Promoting gender equity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is central to the AIMS mission. Across the Network, Centres organise targeted programmes that encourage girls and young women to pursue mathematics and science.
These initiatives include:
- Mentorship programmes with women scientists
- Coding camps and STEM bootcamps for girls
- Career guidance and role-model engagements
- Safe, inclusive learning environments
- Girls in Mathematical Sciences Program
By addressing structural and social barriers, AIMS contributes to building a more representative and inclusive scientific community across Africa.
