Serena Lefort (CPA, CA) is Founder of The Connext Group, an advisory firm providing M&A, fund structuring, and operational consulting services to investment managers and growth- stage businesses across North America and Europe. She advises fund managers on fund launches, governance frameworks, and operating infrastructure.
Ms. Lefort previously served as Executive Vice-President at OMERS, a C$100+ billion global pension plans, where she led the financial and business operations of nearly C$30 billion in private equity and infrastructure assets. She also served as Enterprise Head of Tax, establishing OMERS’ global tax strategy and risk framework.
Earlier in her career, she was a Partner at KPMG LLP, specializing in private investment structuring and M&A tax for private equity funds and pension investors.
She currently serves as Chairperson of OMERS Dutch Coöperatief U.A., a European investment platform, and is a Director of Monarch House Ltd. In Canada. She is also a Director and Investment Committee Member of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) – Canada.
Ms. Lefort holds a CPA, CA designation, a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University (Canada).
