Howard Covington is a Cambridge graduate in physics and maths. He has been a director of investment bank SG Warburg, European chief executive of investment bank Wasserstein Perella, a co-founder and chief executive of New Star Asset Management, a trustee of the Science Museum, and chair of: the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge, The Alan Turing Institute for big data and AI, law firm ClientEarth, and the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment at the University of Oxford. Howard is a fellow of the Institute of Physics and an honorary fellow of the Isaac Newton Institute and of The Alan Turing Institute.
