collaborative education model, its strong national and international networks, and its work in
developing high-level mathematical, scientific and AI skills.
As part of the awards process, a video was produced to showcase AIMS South Africa’s work,
partnerships and contribution to developing talent in the Western Cape.
For more than 20 years, AIMS South Africa has supported talented students from across the
continent, preparing them for careers in research, education, industry and public service.
Through intensive academic training, mentorship and a vibrant residential learning
environment, AIMS South Africa helps students develop the skills and confidence to contribute
to Africa’s scientific and economic future.
The award also recognises the importance of AIMS South Africa’s partnerships with universities,
research institutions, government, industry and international collaborators. These partnerships
are central to the organisation’s ability to respond to emerging opportunities and develop
talent in areas of strategic importance.
Recent initiatives, including the AI for Science Stream, further strengthen AIMS South Africa’s
role in preparing students to work at the intersection of mathematical sciences, artificial
intelligence and scientific discovery.
This recognition belongs to the whole AIMS South Africa community: students, alumni,
lecturers, researchers, staff, partners and supporters. It reflects the dedication, talent and
shared commitment that continue to shape AIMS South Africa’s work and impact.
